Campaign

Aid and Development Effectiveness

There is no doubt on the significance and role of civil society and donor organisations on development. Unfortunately, it is not surprising that some areas in Kenya with many civil society organizations remain desperately poor despite the presence of a number of organizations for decades. Donor organisations also comes up with stringent measures that are unhealthy for sustainable development for various reasons that are known to them.

The campaign seeks to identify and show policy gaps through research and come up with options for purposes of lobbying in conferences, seminars, and forums organised for donors, local actors and beneficiaries. New approaches, case studies and best practices to developement are highlighted and shared with a view of adoption to suit the local context.

Globalisation and Fair-trade

There are often mixed reactions about the impact of globalisation around the world. But with all those reactions from developing countries such as Kenya, whether negative or positive, globalisation is here with us. The campaign will focus on all aspects of globalisation (media, economics, culture, etc) and its effects but with a special focus to Fair-trade for Kenya and other developing countries.

Policy and Governance

Most development initiatives in Kenya fail because of lack of good leadership and strong governance structures in place. This campaign will focus on mentoring leadership at the grassroots level that communities rely on as alternative leadership as opposed to the current trend of depending on political leadership for direction. The alternative leadership will then enhance strong democracy and create governance structures at that level that is responsive to people and enhances inclusive participation on issues that affect community life.

Peace and Human Rights

Peaceful environment and coexistence is paramount to increased investment and sustainable development in Kenya and the world in general. This campaign focuses in creating that environment which people are at peace with themselves and their neighbours to improve the general standards of living and enhance human dignity.
